Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG – On such a beautiful day, I decided to enjoy the last sunny day of late summer with a special drive. Just free as a bird. Except that my bird now has gull-wing doors instead of wings, and its chirping has been replaced by a 591 hp hum.
I quickly call my good friend and sports car expert Genc from Rentalux and let him know that the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG will be my companion for the day. "No problem, buddy," he says on the other end of the line.
An hour later, I'm already sitting in the Silver Arrow, ready to enjoy the day with a leisurely drive and listen to the symphony of the V8 gasoline engine. But I'm the conductor, and today my favorite song is playing – vroom vroom!
Right from the start, I notice the endlessly long hood. The front end of the SLS AMG is rather unusual and confusing. The interior is an elegant combination of bright red leather and chrome elements. The speedometer chirps at me that the fun stops at 360 km/h.
The Mercedes SLS AMG also shines in a well-known movie. In Transformers 3, it is driven by Victoria's Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and then turns out to be a Decepticon named Soundwave. This name fits the Mercedes SLS like a glove, as this little powerhouse hides a Bang & Olufsen sound system with BeoSound AMG high-end surround sound system.
Due to the long front end, the SLS feels rear-heavy, making you feel every "breakaway" of the rear. Overall, this sports car is an elegant powerhouse with a rather long nose.
